I drive a 1995 Contour with V6, ABS, and traction control (old style with the extra anti-throttle cable).
I was driving on the highway in the rain a few days ago, doing about 100 km/hr, hit a puddle and did a little hydro-planing, and my Traction Control and ABS lights came on. Its been a couple of days, but the lights still come on after driving a bit. They come on with the rest of the warning lights when you start the car, then go out. Once you've been driving for about 2 minutes, they come back on.
Traction control is not working when the lights are on, and I'm pretty sure that the ABS is disabled as well.
I checked the car for CELs, and theres nothing coming up at all.
I checked the FAQ on the main page, and it says that the lights may come on after driving in the wet but should go off after a few restarts. Did a search, and came up with a few checks to do, like looking for CELs.
I'm going to try disconnecting the battery for about a half hour when I get home, but what else can I do to diagnose this issue?
