91K Miles. I've done a lot of freeway driving which is 3.5K RPMs or higher, I think because of how these cars are geared, running higher RPMS wears these alternators out much quicker. This is the first real problem I've had with the car.
I am not sure about that, I have been running my 95 Mystique lately with nothing but highway miles on the original alternator and have had no issues
you can pick one up from a junk yard for around $40, that is what I did when my father found that our second 99, my car, had a cracked alternator housing
as I am sure the faaq says you can get the alternator out by removing the tie rod end and using extentions to get to the bolts and then work the alternator out, that is the easiest way compaired to what the Ford manual says
I dont think your 95 Mistique is geared like the SVTs...i turn 4,000 RPMs on the freeway...thats a lot of constant high rev'ing, extra wear on the alternator, right?
