I was wondering about that also. I figured it would turn into a huge topic, but it seemed to fade away...

it's just that i doubt he has enough brain cells left to come up with a coherent statement, much less read a well written statement without sounding like a boxer who's taken one too many right hooks to the head.

I love it how the left insists on repeating how dumb Bush is, when for 4 years now he's run circles around you all. He's endured constant media (including a feature film dedicated solely to smearing him that the mainstream press blessed as gospel) bashing, extremely controversial decisions and policies, and yet he still has a pretty good chance of winning re-election. If he's that dumb, then what does that say about you?

Why is it that allegedly smart people associate intelligence with speaking ability? How many absolutely brilliant people do you know that can't speak in public.
Finally, do you think you can speak better than the president? If you hold on to the idea that speaking ability is tied to intelligence, let's hear you get up and speak, and we'll judge if you are smarter than the president or not.
Really finally, (lol, I keep having these thoughts) I think some of the wisest people know when to keep their mouths shut.

Apparently you're just too stupid to have read and understand the things presented in this thread. Of course, as I've said before, facts and truth mean nothing to you liberals. As far as drinking Exlax, I think it would be better if you poured some in your ear to clear out what you obviously have for brains!

You seem to be amoung the fairly large group of liberals who "missunderestimate" Bush. Books have been written on the subject...would have though you would have learned the lessons that Ann Richards and Algore learned the hard way. Kerry has been a little slow on the uptake as well...
Uhhhohhh...strike that last sentance. It may be percievced as an attack on his patriotism.
"I tell you now, I will not stand by and allow my patriotism to be attacked by someone who did not see active duty in Vietnam, even if he was just a boy" JFK..
Oh, and BP. Something else to think about. Before that Barn's bozo stood up and said he helped Bush get into the guard, I had actually assumed that probably SOMEBODY had helped (big deal BTW) given his dad's position. However, since this democratic lacky step forward and has been pointed out by many, icluding his DAUGHTER to be LIAR of Clintonian proportions..now I wonder. I bet alot of others are too. Maybe Bush really did just luck out and get in the gaurd by himself?? As I posted above, the odds were not so bad. Who cares really but it is just funny how this stuff backfires.. (well OK, Rather is not laughing).

ooohhhh. all it means is bush has friends in higher places than me, a dad who's former cia director and president, and a bunch of supporters who hope he hasn't snorted away his coherence.

of course that's not the only measure of intelligence. but whether you like it or not when you have a job as a public figure that requires you to be a good communicator then you best believe people will use your communication skills/speaking ability as some level of measurement on your intelligence. anyone who's ever negotiated a business deal or sat in a board meeting can vouch for that.

lol, i do that all the time. my job requires that i know what the heck i'm talking about and know how to communicate it. please don't deny that speaking ability is tied to intelligence at some level, everyone judges people in that manner! i don't proclaim to be the best public speaker, but if put on equal footing i bet i could read the state of the union address better than him! that may be because i have training in that area but this is the president we're talking about. he should have the best public speaking handlers in the universe!

yet everyone (including you) has something to say in this thread. keep in mind this is a discussion board?

So you think that the only reason why Bush is president is because of the 'connections' he has? Didn't know GB Sr. had a stranglehold on the US population to vote for his son... I didn't vote, so can somebody confirm that? Quote:

We're taking weak shots?
BP, please. You are so desperate, that all you can do is call 'us' whiners, babies and Bush lovers. The only people whining and being a baby is YOU and your boy Kerry.
Stop before you fall into the hole you're digging for yourself and I lose any respect for you.
