"They" reported the heck out of it when they dug up some obscure connections to Republicans/Bush. So the reporting was not reporting what they were saying, but rather reporting on why the the SBVs should be discredited.
And you mention that the Swifties have no facts to back them up...actually, the most offensive thing Kerry did in his past was when he came back from Vietnam and called all the soldiers over there war criminals, endangering the POWs that were already being held, and making sure every soldier was spat on when they returned home. There is videotape of him saying these things, so you can't say they didn't happen.
