everyone knows that bush was one of the thousands of privileged kids who were able to avoid combat by serving in the national guard. the only reason some people make note of it is because of the causualties by proportion..."although draftees made up only 16 percent of the U.S. armed forces, they were the bulk of infantry riflemen and accounted for more than half the army's battle deaths."
