I have a 1998 Contour Sport, V6 and I have really enjoyed owning it. It has had it's quirks. Over the past few years it would, out of the blue, just completely fails to idle and usually during this time, attempting to maintain a constant road speed was next to impossible. Well it decided to throw another one of it's fits the last couple of days. It is now in the shop. They say "idle control sensor." I hope they are correct. I have a great service technician. Now to the egr valve. It has been throwing that code for some time now but I continue to drive it. Question....What is the downside to not replacing this egr valve?? The service technician has suggested that it's not hurting the engine to drive it even though the codes are saying to replace it. I am also trying to decide whether to replace the head lamp assemblies or try to clear them up. I will have to work on that issue. Another question, I want brighter lights, as bright as legally possible I guess. Suggestions please as to the best available bulbs. Also, I am minimally, I guess interested in improving the performance if it is an easy bolt on. Any suggestions?? Thank You All.....Steve
