I want to disconnect the annoying noise that is made when the keys are in the ignition and the door is open. I was able to do it on my 3000gt vr4 but it was hidden behind the radio in teh center cluster. Question is where in the hell is it on the contour. 2000csvt.

thanks couldn't think of how to search for this, either an answer or a link would be awesome.

thanks
dan

I agree. You're an idiot because: 1) you went so fast on an open road, and 2) you came here and posted about it. And like Horse said, who cares about maxing through 5th. It's meant as an overdrive gear, not a race gear.

For the contour, its a speaker on the bottom of the Passenger fuse box, I love the chimes on my car though. Just stab the speaker a few times or so, cus i think it has some needed electronics on it

Couldn't you just unplug the switch in the door jamb?

Tape the switch on the door jam down so the car always thinks the door is closed.

Then the light wouldn't come on when he opened the door.

You could put a small piece of duct tape over the chime speaker on the fuse box

No one said the easy and safer (then poking holes in the timer box ) way.

Pop the timer box apart. Cut the wires to the speaker. Annoyance solved!

It's as easy as that.
