I spent about 4.5 hours on Grandma's red Taurus today. This was my first time really using my new Porter Cable dual action polisher aside from trying it on a few panels on my car.. So it was a learning experience. I really could have used another 2 - 3 hours, but was pressed for time. Didn't have time to clay, and it could have really used it. Could have used more time w/ DACP as well.

Washed with Black Magic wash
DACP on a LC cutting pad on the horizontal surfaces
Pinnacle's new Swirl Remover on a LC polishing pad
Poorboy's EX-P on a CMA finishing pad
Meguiar's Hot Rims used on hubcaps and tires
Hi-Temp Grape Tire dressing on tires
Stoner's Trim Shine in the wheel wells, side skirt thingies, mirror surround, and cowl
Orange Blast to clean engine, dressed w/ CD-2
Interior spot cleaned w/ mild laundry detergent / water mix and scrubbed w/ brush on PC
Dash cleaned with same mix, dressed w/ Zymol Protectant
Stoner's Invisible Glass on windows
Think that's all I used

(click thumbs for larger pics)

I could have used some more time on the interior, but the little time I spent helped out quite a bit. There was some sort of white residue all over the dash, radio, and door panels. No idea what it was, maybe some of her makeup. But my little mixture mentioned above cleaned it right up.

Engine was pretty dusty..

But cleaned up nicely..

There were quite a bit of swirls on all the horizontal surfaces from the drive thru car washes...

My goal wasn't to completely get rid of the swirls, as I knew that I didn't have the time, nor skill, and it'd just get swirled all over again from the silly car wash. But I wanted to greatly reduce them. I think it came out pretty good.

Oh, I can't take complete credit for the job. I did have a few helpers.. While I was washing the car, I had to run back in to the garage to get something. I discovered these two guys in the very back corner near my car care shelf. They're too friendly!

And I saw a praying mantis just hanging out...

Other pictures.. but I think most of em are in this post!

Yea, you don't see em too often, huh? I had knocked over the garden lighthouse with the hose (taking the hose to the garage to spray away the duck poop), and when ma picked it up the praying mantis went scampering out on to the driveway. Then he just posed while I took the picture

P.S. That Taurus looks like it's tearing-ass around the yard, and it's not even moving!

Nice job on the car.

That Mantis is BIG! That one is a male and they are kind of dumb. If you ever run across a female (with much shorter wings and a bigger ass) they are very smart. I had one when I was a kid that I trained to stay on a twig in my room. She knew when I was going to feed her a bug with some tweezers. I would also take her to the grocery store as she sat on my shoulder. She lived for about a year, then went nuts and died.

Bug nerds, unite!

So, Perry, when should I be over for the roasted duck?
