Ok, here is what happend, I was driving home and all of the sudden my Battery light came on....I kept driving, and it turned of, then it started to turn on and off, on and off and so on, well, all of the sudden my car stalls and wont turn on no more, I jumped it and it worked fine again, drove for like 2 minutes, all of the sudden my RPM gauge goes to 0 (the car still drives and is on) and when I hit the gas it wasnt really like I hit the gas, it sounded like a lawn mower, and made some funny ass noises, wouldnt work no more, well, now my car is standing here, I talked to my friend about it, and he figured I should check all my fuses, check my battery, if all is OK there, to go to the alternator, but it will most likely be the ignition? Well, I was wondering if yall could give me some tips, I really appreciate it, thanks!
P.S.: its a 99 Contour SVT

Probably alternator, possibly really bad battery.

Ill bet its the alternator. I had similar problems when I first got my Contour. I would check the alternator first.

on an SVT, you better line your pockets with cash. they arent easy to get at.

I got connections at out local lowcountry ford dealer, they'll get me something, hopefully, ill prolly go there tomorrow, cuz im not sure if its the alternator, i jump started it, and drove for maybe like 50 yards, and it did the same thing over again...well, maybe thats normal when the battery is totally dead? RPM gauge drops to 0, the car sounds like a lawn mower and wont drive...

Jumping the battery doesnt charge it, it gives just enough juice to start the engine. The alternator should charge the battery after it starts. Since it dies soon after, its probably the alternator.
check battery voltage and see if the alternator is working.

Sorry, im just car illiterate, I dont work on em, I just drive em, lol...

its the alternator. at least your my speedometer was bouncing all over when my alternator went.

How do I see if the alternator is working?
Stop by AutoZone. They'll test the charging system and battery for free.
