So pa-performance has a 200amp that will work on Contour? How much are they going for? Thanks for the input

I got an email back today from mean green. For a 2000 svt its $369. Ive been looking into it also.

DO NOT ORDER FROM MEAN GREEN!
You will be sorry.
I ordered one and they charged me immediately stating it would go out within a few days.
After a week, nothing.
2 weeks - nothing.
I call - no answer, leave a message.
3 days later - call, leave message.
5 days later - call, leave a message.
7 days later - talk to someone and leave a message for "appropriate person".
10 days later - talk to someone and leave a message for "appropriate person".
At this point it's been over a month. I call and go through the same garbage AGAIN. Call, leave messages, never get a call back.
I called my credit card company and told them what happened and disputed the charge for "failure of delivery of product".
Mean Green lied to me about when I would get it.
They refused to return my calls.
They refused to give me a refund.
Buyer beware.

They sound pretty reasonable. I assume there wiring harness will need to be modified to fit ours? Not a big deal. Anybody ordered one. I will be ordering an alternator within a month or so. Thanks

I ordered one in July, as I stated earlier. I made my own wiring harness using separate 4 gauge wiring to the starter and alternator. I of course used a new 200A MEGAFuse and holder. I also upgraded my circuit breaker from 175A to 200A for the relocated battery. I have pix, if anyone is interested.

Thanks Pete I think I will just go with the PA Alt. I got one for my mustang from them and had no problems. I relly didnt think they made one for the contour. Thanks for the heads up.

does anyone think its possible to have the stock altenator rewound to pump out 160 amp like the one on pa-performance? one of my father's friends owns a altenator/generator shop and he can usually rebuld them to get a little more power out of them with different brushes and windings, but i never cared much to ask. has anyone had somehting like this attempted? cause i know it would be a lot less that $200.. prolly more along the lines of $100 if he does it. (if he can actually get a substantial amount of ouput increase i'm not so sure though)
