Thanks for all your thoughts everyone. I'm still determining the route I will go but the #1 choice will start out with a new 3.0 shotblock which I will tear down and have balanced ($200), replace the bearings, and install the latest oil pan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe just the oil pan (even on my existing engine) would resolve any possible oiling issue with regard to lower end bearings (since isn't it just an additional oil supply to the top end if I use '01 up heads?) Based on that assumption, I would consider using my existing 2.5 heads in the event I could have them cc'ed enough to drop the CR to close to, or below, 10:1- Posssible? Guess I'll post that question in it's own thread. Along with another one on clutches.
