Therefore, pre-98 diff > 98+ diff, which is what I beleive we've been trying to get at from the beginning.
No pre-98 diff has blown??? Wow, I'd like to see that on paper. Is it the perfect differential? They should put it in all cars.
Good point, I'll just sell my Quaife that I bought on a whim and just buy a pre-98 diff.. How could I be so stupid?

And it just keeps getting dumber..., what are you guys like 12?
As far as I and others know, there have been no pre98 MTXs to blow a diff on this forum. From comments Terry has made it sounded like the pre98 diff may have been a stronger part, but I did qualify my comments with "I'm sure you could break it if you try".
WTF is the big argument over????? Is it that hard to beleive that the diff problems most commonly seen on the 98+'s may just be from ford getting cheap on parts?
Ever wonder why after all those years of MTX-75 production this TSB wasn't issued till Jul 99, and is NOT listed as a TSB for MY97?
99-14-8 JUL 99 M/T - MTX 75 Vehicle Will Not Move
Any of you remember that the fix in this TSB was to install a revised diff?
hmmmmmmm....
