Early rod shifts are a better box.In almost 2 years I've only had 2 or 3 thru the shop for any type of repair.Down side is the short shifter setup cannot be used (B&M0 and the linkage is sensitive to engine roll so the mounts have to be in tip top condition.Going from cable to rod takes a fair number of parts & mods.The rod box also has all the selectors in the bottom of the trans and has almost zero wear to the parts as they are always in oil......
