ahh, yes, but normally lability only is required.
at least in NJ, there are insurance companies which deal w/ exotic cars exclusively. I obviously don't know what kind of coverage people buy, but even liability only will cost insane amount. this is because people w/ such an income have to protect themselves againts lawsuits. besides, such an insurance is most likely covered by an "umbrella" insurance, which costs extra. umbrella is purchased to cover the situation when the amount of damage is above maximum payed out by primary insurance.
as far as full coverage goes, given uniqueness of product and probability of accident, it's financially benefitial to buy a new car if/when [censored] happens. it does not mean nobody is buying full coverage.
