nothing really... you probably can't buy insurance for this kind of car anyway. at least not straightforward auto-insurance. if you own that kind of car you don't need insurance, well from a financial standpoint anyway...

in every state in the union you are legally required to have insurance of some sort.

My neighbor has an enzo - and yes - it DOES have insurance and he DOES pay an arm and a leg for his premiums - because after all - if/when he wrecks it he will get paid for it.

ahh, yes, but normally lability only is required.

at least in NJ, there are insurance companies which deal w/ exotic cars exclusively. I obviously don't know what kind of coverage people buy, but even liability only will cost insane amount. this is because people w/ such an income have to protect themselves againts lawsuits. besides, such an insurance is most likely covered by an "umbrella" insurance, which costs extra. umbrella is purchased to cover the situation when the amount of damage is above maximum payed out by primary insurance.

as far as full coverage goes, given uniqueness of product and probability of accident, it's financially benefitial to buy a new car if/when [censored] happens. it does not mean nobody is buying full coverage.

sounds like you live in a nice neighborhood
