Curious if any one has encountered this....

Out of no where one evening, I noticed that my reverse lights didn't come on when I was backing out of someone's garage. I was able to engaged in reverse without any problems but the lights just didn't come on. If I force the stick further back in reverse and hold it there, the light does come on.

Does anyone who how I can resolve this problem? Thanks in advance guys.

I had the same issue with my reverse when I first put in the B+M. I fiddles with it and they work now... Can't really say what I did to fix it tho.

Hmm...I also have a B+M short shifter in mine. Perhaps that's the root of the problem

I went through CEG's How-To articles and couldn't find the one that relates to reverse engagement/backing light problem. Would you happen to know the exact link? Many thanks.

sounds like the switch for the lights is not working, I beleive it is on top of the transmission around where the shifter cables attach, try cleaning or moving it and see what that does

Try adjusting the Range Selector Sensor.
If adjusting it doesn't work than REPLACE it.

I'm not familiar with the Range Selector Sensor. What does it do and where it is located?!?

Thanks.

It sits on top of the CD4E transaxle and tells the PCM what gear you've selected.
So if you are in D and the Range Selector Sensor tells the PCM that you are in N or 2,
you can understand why the shifting would be irratic or harsh.
