LOL...
Just making a point. I'm sure Kermit and the rest of the CEG's political banterists (is that a word I just invented?) will remain here to entertain us all. One tiny example.

Your choice of vernacular comes close to pissing me off Stazi. I know there was a smiley at the end, but ANY reference to Ronald Reagan in a negative light really gets to me.
I served in the United States Marine Corps while he was in office. He was the first President I voted for. And IMHO, he was the best president we've had here in a very long time. He will remain so unitl I see a Colin Powell / John McCain ticket.

Mark, I think you TOTALLY misunderstood my post.
I was NOT mocking Ronald Reagan in the least. I have the utmost respect for him, and was not trying to make fun of his funeral procession in the least. He deserved all the honour and esteem that was presented in his funeral procession.
My disdain and cynicism was directed SOLEY at Bill Clinton. IMHO I would not be surprised to learn if that douche Clinton, puts himself in the same league as Ronald Reagan, and upon dying would have a funeral procession planned out with the same dignity and esteem, even though he far from desreves anything other than being thrown in a pine box and buried without anyone giving two-sh!ts.
Hence, my previous post was merely mocking Clinton, and I was trying to paint a picture of the only way that a-hole should be remembered as - a disgrace to the American government, its people and former presidents.
I hope that clears things up.
PS I never wish him to die, with respect to another hu8man being. But I am disgusted at all the media attention that jackass gets, granted he was president, but I would think the American people would rather forget about him all together and the disrespectful shenanigans he got up to in the White House.

I really really really hope you are saying this facetiously.
Hey, I'm on drugs. And I do really like Powell. I couldn't come up with a suitable running mate so I threw out the Republican Veteran from Arizona. Out of curiosity, who would you like to see on the '08 ticket Dave?

I'm afraid the ones who get the most press time are going to be Rudy, Pataki, and McCain. Those are all guys that I'd rather not have as president. I'd like to see Jeb Bush make a run at it. He's done some good things down there in Florida. If national security issues continue to heat up (Iran, N. Korea, etc.), Condi would probably be a good option (especially if she was going against Hillary). Chuck Hagel is going to go for it, though he has to turn back towards conservatives if he's going to stand any chance in the primaries. As Kerry is going to find out, it's very difficult for Senators to be elected president because of their long voting history. No matter if it's conservative or liberal, there's plenty to attack.
If I could pick a dream ticket right now, I'd go with Jeb Bush/Condi Rice. Unless something very serious happens in the next four years, election focus will turn back to domestic issues, which is Jeb's specialty. Obviously, there will be a need for the national security front, which will be Condi's purpose.
I guess it all depends on the road the Republicans go down. The RNC last week was evidence that we are willing to pedestal our socially-liberal members. If we begin constructing our platform to keep these people highlighted in our party, then it will be a Rudy/McCain ticket. However, if we maintain Bush Conservatism, then a ticket such as Bush/Rice is more likely.
There's no doubt it's going to be Hillary in '08 for the Democrats. I don't yet have an opinion as to how difficult it will be to beat her.

I hope not. I'll go broke funding protection of my 2nd Amendment rights.

I'd actually need my 2nd Amendment right if Hillary was elected. I couldn't pull the trigger on myself fast enough. I guess it's Hillary in '08 only if Kerry doesn't win this election, which is far from a given at this point. I can't think of any other Democrat who would stand a chance in '08. They're all just a bunch of substitute teachers. Obama will be in the mix eventually though.
