We sell these where I work as well, infact we have a cooler on our 800 gallon Menthanol tank outside. Supposedly the reason behind it is methanol likes to "collect" water molecules as it approaches ambient air temp, so the cooler it remains the less likely it is to get water in it making the fuel as pure as possible.

Now its been a few years since my Race Fuel Handling Course (Yes, there is such a thing and it used to be required by the company I work for) so my wording above might not be totally accurate... you know how memory starts to go after awhile!
