Search Nazi's I fart in your general direction in advance . Does anyone have SPmotorsport's K&N FIPK intake on an SVT? It indicates that the fitting to the throttle body may be to small for the SVT appliction.

DO NOT BUY IT!!!

It's as simple as that.

Yes it's small.
Yes it's WAY OVER PRICED.
Yes there are better options. (A short ram or GMK CAI)

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

search!!!

Now thats out of the way, i had a little fun with my friends SVT....We took his stock air box off and put his friends K&N intake system on. (his friend has a cougar)

well fist off, it didn;t really fit, we needed to use a silicon hose connecter to keep it on (why i do not know, but it was a real tight fit on his friends cougar..difficult to get on and off), We couldn't dyno cause at the time we had no connections, all we had was butt dyno...he said it felt like he lost acceleration, i do drove and it felt bad...then i drove my car which was stock at the time, and it deffinetly felt better than his.

We put his stock intake back on and his car seemed to pick up better and elt normal.

We got a dyno day comming up soon, if i get a chance, i will dyno my hybrid with it (if his friend still has it) and then with my friends stock intake and see what happens.

My intake is quite simple, a $20maf adapter i ordered from a local shop, and the K&N filterpart# RE-0910, total is about $55.

consider making your own heat shield (we make them out of Small rubbermaid trash cans)

Because heat soak will cause you to lose performance.

The GMK CAI extension pipe kit is $59 shipped from Custom Coogahz. Grab that and a K&N ru-3530 and you're in business.

Thats not a GMK, it's a COPY of GMK's design

I'm not sure if the RU-3530 will fit in the fender well, although the flange size is correct.

I have a GMK Carbon Fiber CAI with a K&N RF-1047, and will be installing it soon

just so you guys know A cold air intake is a top end modification and it will lessen your acceloration off the line for several reasons the biggest being air velocity the air moves slower throught the larger pipe thus a loss of low end torque the air dosent get crammed in there at low rpm like it dose in a stock intake
but you will notice higher top speeds and better mpg on the highway you would be better off drilling 1" holes in the bottom of the air box or the side facing the inner fender
and using a K&N drop in replacement and when you open the intake you will notice more gains if you open the exhaust too .
