Well, on drunk drivers, while I may have some issues with it, there is a set definable mark for what level is OK, and what level is not legal. Also, it is public property. Police cannot enforce drunk driving on private roads.

Mike... I know we'll never agree on this issue. However, I will help you patronize smoke free places, as I believe the right of choice is good.

I truly believe the way to vote is by choosing the places you eat and play at. There are oxygen clubs and smoke free restaurants where one can hang out in a smoke free atmosphere. If you don't want to be around cigarette smoke, patronize those places.

The issue is not the right of smokers to smoke. It is the right of property owners to choose whether or not smoking is allowed in their establishment. Next thing you know, they will ban you from smoking in your home if a salesperson were to come to the door.

I also don't care what the economic impact is (the gain/loss outcomes have been split). It's an issue of allowing property owners to choose what they allow their customers to do.

Of course, as long as we're trying to outlaw things our noses don't like... I'm surprised nobody is trying to outlaw B.O. and perfume/cologne.

I cross posted this to my RX-7 club, and I'm going to steal a quote from over there...

"I feel you underrate that door.
someone owns that door, and gets paid when it opens.
that persons JOB is to make what is inside that door as pleasant as possible, the sole function of this law is to deny the owner of the door, all owners of all doors, the capability to lawfully please lawful smokers.

because some people don't like the smell.

people who are in no way required to enter through that door."
