The vast majority of people hate second-hand smoke. If all those people told business owners that they wouldn't come there if people were smoking you can be guaranteed that the policy would be changed the next day. But instead you don't complain and you just keep going there "hoping that the smoke doesn't come your way", giving tacit approval to the management of their policies.




Actually, all those people just skipped that step and went straight to lobbying to have a law that prohibited the smoking at that business.

I do complain, but the best they'll do is shuffle me around. The 25 dollar check that gets taken care of does little to satisfy me after having to move around and still inhale smoke while eating. What business owner is going to kick out half the restaurant to satify one person. I, too, wish more people would speak out about it.

Living in Houston, I would think this would be a priority with our pollution problem.
