Ok. I'm starting this post because I assume tat I am not the only person that gets scam artist emails from my classified ad's. I want to catch and stop these guys, as I am sure some of you may want to also. First let me know if you have received these emails, and if so, what have you done about them. Second, we need to put together a plan to catch these guys and stop them from potentially ripping anyone off. They are getting a little better with their initial email to lure you in. Also I know that there is a warning on the top of the classified page, but I don't think it's working to deterr them. Let's get together and stop them all together.

If you fall for the scams out there, then you are border line we todd did. They are way too good to believe.

Maybe we could get Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum to email them a virus from their Macintosh like they did in Independence Day and crash their computers.
Seriously though, you'd think they'd being to catch those a-holes seeing as they're able to catch internet perves and child molesters through the net!

Thats what i do.......catching them is not worht the time or effort.
Don;t deal with it just delete it!
And if you feel for one contact your local poilice or FBI and let them know.and give them all the info you ahve on them.
Chances are though, they cannot do much.

Yeah, I got a bunch of them when I listed my car for sale here on CEG. All of them were poorly worded and grammaticaly awkward. If they ever got their act together, they could probably scam more people.
There is nothing we can do about these guys. They use free e-mail accounts that are not traceable, they are more likely than not outside of the US, and they send thousands upon thousands of these scam e-mails in the hopes that maybe just a handful will take. And somebody always ends up falling for it, so the few times of success justify the attempts, in their minds.
It's a shame the world is this way, but unfortunately it is.

They are all overseas and nothing really can be done other than avoid them. Even when I put my email as "xxx at dot com", I still got them!
I replied to one saying, give me cash and the car is yours. No reply from them.

Replying to them just lets them now its a working account and you will get spammed alot more. Just delete.
