I wish I could help you but unfortunately I dont jack about trannies. But I thought I would post anyways because I am tired of seeing people here asking for help and being told to kiss off its not a contour. Or check the search engine. Hello obviously we did search first but there is so much misinformation out there, we sometimes need a straight answer..
Thank you

well, we dont have an engine lift and thats gonna be a b-to-the-izzatch to pull that motor. no engine hoist either. we are trying to change the clutch.i we have figured out the bolt situation, we took PB plaster and a drill, drilled holes in front of the bolts, into the subframe and soaked the threads in PB blaster (massive amounts of it) tomorrow we will attempt to "easy out" them. all but one broke. if it wasnt for the thing having to be removed if the motor or clutch ever has to be replaced again, i woudl say weld the [censored] on there, but he doesnt want to...does anybody know if JB weld will work???.

also, i cant seem to find ANY other info on the Diff gear situation... we have gotten no farther than removing all the parts that get us to the parts we need to get to...if that makes sense.

motor removal huh??? i think with a couple 2x4's and some chain we can lift that sumbitch out (gearbox and all)...but how do you remove a FWD motor and make sure it gets back in right??? i have done MANY clutches and motor removeal s on RWD cars (muscle cars and such) but never on a FWD, this is all news to me...same for J.J (my boss).

the haynes manual says it can be done with the motor "in situ". so i think we may try that route. if we have to, we can pull the motor, i mean whats a few more motor moutns and a couple of wires anyway???

all the mounts need replaced, so we might as well go ahead and do them while we are in there.

this car was given to my boss...he is going to fix it and give it to his son to drive. hence all the money spent.

Engine hoist. Can be rented many places for cheap and will make the job a lot easier.

he has no truck....but my dad does. i dont even have a car and at this point, carrying an engine hoist on my bicycle is not an option LOL.
