I have finally contacted ford reagarding my dash warp. This is the second time it has happened and I don't intend to pay for it. What I need to know is the date that the owner notification program was issued and expired. I tried searching but I couldn't find them. Also, If any of you can post close up pictures of what the fix looks like that would be very beneficial to me. I've heard it was some sort of ugly looking thing on the dash but it was not put on mine the first time it was fixed. They simply replaced the dash and now they claim they wont fix it. My argument is that it wasn't repaired correctly the first time and I should not be liable for a faulty repair. I'm also the original owner, have the extended warranty and have done all my service at ford. I've allready contacted my attorney and I intend to fight this to the end. Any help with those dates and pictures would be greatly appreciated. I'll keep eveyone up to date on developments. Thanks.

Thanks alot for the pics. Is that vent part of the kit that ford supposedly used?

thats the kit...basically just holds everything in place

Yep, new large black metal piece and new black plastic "vent" thingy.

That's what I wanted to hear. The first person I spoke to at ford claims the fix consisted of just glue and no new additional parts. Now I have the photos to prove them wrong. What I still need to know is when this owner notification was issued and expired. Thanks for all your help.

It ended on Aug 31 2002 I do not know the start date for sure but the other info here might help.
It was Owner notification program 01B78

Mine doesn't look like that in the pictures. My buddy was a tech at Ford and did mine. All of the clips are under the black vent. If you look closely at it, you'll notice really small ripples where the clips were put in, but it's nothing bad at all.

by the vent I just had mine glued down when i got a new windshield, but now it is starting to peel by the instrument cluster. Ford: Quality is Job 1!

Thanks for the info. What's really important is the start date because if the owner notification was in effect at the time of the repair, then ford screwed up and should have it installed the kit. The repair was done in august of 01. Thanks again everybody.
