Would a Transgo CD4E jr. shift kit help his ATX at all? How about a new valve body? Just curious, my Contour has 125K so I'm probably next.

The plug for your 95 is under the hood. Autozone will probably not be able to scan it because they only hae the scanner for an OBD-II system, and your 95 is OBD-I.

You will need BOTH as well as a full rebuild kit, and the new updated pump.

Well that isnt good for me so how can i tell if a sensor is bad or not in it??

First, the sensors in the 95 are different.
Second the early 95s were prone to blowing the pump pressure gasket. There is a revised gasket and pump kit to replace the original and cure the gasket seal problem.
With the age and mileage of your vehicle, a full rebuild would be the best way to go. Expecially if you haven't changed the Transaxle oil at least every 15,000 miles.
You would insure that you get all new clutches, seals, and a brand new valve body, and have it reworked with the TransGo Shift Kit Jr. You can also check on the condition of all of the bearings while you have it apart.
It is going to cost you, but in the end you'll have a reliably built transaxle that will give you at least as much service as it already has, if not more. And it will lsat even longer if you change the transaxle oil every 15,000 miles.

I have the 95 but only have about 58700 miles on it. I didnt think that the trannys would go that fast on them. It was an older couples car before mine and im not out there racing it or anything. So a full rebuld on it huh. Ill have to save up for that. Im really on a budget for that

On the 98 Contour SE Sport I had, the original tranny failed at 31,000 miles.

Yes I am the Official CD4E Burner and that title was self appointed. I gave myself that title because I was the only one that I was aware of that had 2 CD4E transaxles fail with less than 50,000 miles on each one. I NEVER raced my Contour SE Sport or drove it in any AutoCross competitions, although I would have like to very much. I did have the car dynoed at Crazy Horse, about 3 months before the second CD4E failed on me. It only dynoed at 129hp which was a lot less than I had expected. This was a sign of what was coming.
So Yes, I am the *OFFICIAL* CD4E Burner, but not for abusive reasons.
