Yes, always cheaper just to maintain than to replace. Plus, you will always regret getting rid of the car. Bare in mind, that used car for $5k is probably at the point where it needs replacement parts too. Plus, the previous owner could have beat on the car. Buyer beware!

How about a platform you haven't owned????
todras is right, much cheaper to maintain than to buy. Unless you're looking for an excuse to get something else... BTW hows the Triumph? Snazzy as new again?

You're absolutely right, but on the other hand....
I don't have the time to fug with it anymore. I have Monday afternoons off and Friday afternoon off, don't want to spend those two half-days taking care of the car, which lately is all I'd be doing.

A platform Blake hasn't owned? Impossible to find, unless I fly to Russia to pick up a Lada Niva.
Triumph? Looks good from the right side. lol. Still have the scratched up left fairing, but it's good. It's British, so it has its quirks.

I owned a Lada Niva!
Trust me you don't want one of those.
Fix your fuggen car John you lazy POS! Drive shafts would take you 2 hours tops to do and the wheel bearings you could get done at NAPA!
$5k into your SVT would make her good as new.
2000 SVT Turbo 295hp/269ftlb@12psi
#1 for Bendix Brakes Kits!
Knuckles rebuilt w/new bearings $55
AUSSIE ENDLINKS $70
Gutted pre-cats $80/set
A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine!

Stazi is right, you don't want that one. Besides, it's still a FIAT engine from 60ies w/ minor changes, so it's not that unique... 132 km/h top speed, carburator, mmmm goodies.
