Removing your cat will not hurt your engine.. The engine management system trying to make up for the reading the cat O2 sensor is getting will make the "check engine" light come on. I saw somewhere that there was a fix for that so you could run with no cat and not have the check engine light on. If anybody knows let me know.
And as far as horsepower it is definatly a plus++++ laugh I wouldnt expect more that 6-8 wheel horsepower. But for the price you can't go wrong. If you think you can get away with it i say go for it!

the best part of owning a SVT??
quote from various honda, camaro, celica, DSM owners after a race... "What the hell is that thing?!!!"

CE won't come on with off road Y. If it is reading funny or you have headers on it might read to the CE.... That has been my experience. I had no prob with a CE light with my setup. Hope this helps.

The CEG term for the electronics to fool the system into thinking the two manifold/pre-cats were working fine is MIL eliminator. Used in place of downstream O2 sensors. Any emissions inspection will check for presence of cats. Most people who want to eliminate their cats gut them (bash all the honeycomb catalyst out of 'em) but leave the shell there. i.e. Joe Inspector doesn't look inside the cat. I have seen that there are confirmed cases of Contiques passing Cali Smog Check with all three cats gutted. Hope this helps.
