Ha Ha......Yep......seriously, axxman, could you tell us again what you did.....I think I'm having a similar problem, and I'd like to better understand what you did to solve your problem.

Don't you think, when the wiring for the A/C fan was designed, a fuse was designed in on purpose?!?! Why would you remove it and possibly cause electrical problems? Fix it the RIGHT way, not the half-arsed way.

Geez you read his post better than me - I had no idea what he meant!

Now instead of replacing fuses he'll have to find wich wire he burned up / shorted, or worse put out the fire when the whole engine bay goes up. Godd fix

Check your underhood wiring harnesses. Might be cracked insulation causing shorts. Bad juju.

I was talking about the electronic fuse. For thoes who got their newer contour probably don't know much about this problem ,here is the recall information:

Ford Motor Company will issue a recall for all 1995 model year 2.0L and 2.5L
Contour and Mystique vehicles. The recall will also cover certain 1996 model
year 2.5L Contour and Mystique vehicles built from Job #1 through January 1,
1996. The vehicles covered by this program were built at both the Cuautitlan
Assembly Plant and the Kansas City Assembly Plant.

The recall concerns the cooling fan, which may fail to function. Should an
engine cooling fan fail, Ford will pay to have it serviced at no cost to the
owner of the vehicle.

In some of the affected vehicles it may be possible for the engine cooling
fan bearing to seize, resulting in excessive heat and/or melting of
electrical connectors. Under certain circumstances, the cooling fan motor
brush card may ignite potentially resulting in an underhood fire.

The additional coverage program will be in effect for 8 years service or
100,000 miles from the warranty start date, whichever occurs first. If a
vehicle already has more than 100,000 miles, this coverage will last until
July 31, 2001.

The recall program is 00M13 - also see safety Recall Program 00S44-S1:
Engine Cooling Fan Electronic Fuse Installation.
