OK! sorry to bump an old topic, but here goes:
On my way back from downtown, the car started running hot.. I mean all the sudden, I'm redlining, so it cuts off, and I coast it into the nearest spot off the freeway. Pop the hood, and look for the source of the steam; its a busted top-radiator hose. I mean it literally "popped" at the joint. Soooooo.. I went to pick-a-part, and pulled one off of a 96, not a purty as a brand new one, but also not as expensive ($3.50 vs $27.95), and works fine. I also had to replace the starter (brand new: Autozone-$117.96-Motorcraft). I did all that last night, finished it up, and tried to fire it up.. well not enough kick in the battery to turn it over.. So i tried again today, I finally get it fired up, and it's runnin hot again. I also had a beuatiful display of chalk white smoke come out of the rear end LOL. soo. I'm gonna take out the thermostat, and see if maybe it's blocked up, but I also went searching through the archives, and saw that the WP on my car is prone to go out.. Does it make a squeaking sound when it's about to fail? I'm also guessing that NAPA carries the cheapest replacement? anyway, someone's $.02 wouldnt hurt. Ty for the time.
