Hi, I just had a 2800$ Trany + Clutch replacememnt, and two new alternators. The car was running good for 2 weeks. Now everytime I am driving, when I take off (5spd) if I give it too much gas (which is halfway down on pedal) the car starts bucking (hard mind-you) and will do it through 3rd, unless I barely give it gas. I've been told by a guy at autozone that it is do to my "Vacuum hose." Any ideas on if this is correct? If you need more details, please ask. As far as I know that's all the car does. If it IS the vacuum hose, then i'm curious as to if this easy to replace, or let my mechanic do it? Thanx in advance for the ! -Jeremy Houston, TX

I'm thinkin' fuel pump. See if you can get the fuel pressure checked. Maybe some of the other guys can chime in...
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I'm having the same issue and now my rpm needle is acting weird all on it's own too, so I'm starting to think something's up with the RPM signal or TPS. Things I've replaced or checked with no luck: plug wires and plugs, fuel filter, & MAF. Gotta hook up the OBD2 software to see if that sheds any light on it - may be a fuel issue though (pump or injectors)??

most likely a fuel pump problem, probably going out on you, like force said get your fuel pressure checked that will tell you alot, LBVSVT you should check yours too, as for the rpm jump, my old honda did that, but it was because of a alternator problem

New plugs and Redline fuel injector cleaner greatly reduced my 99's bucking.

Sounds like your alternators going out. Go to Autozone and have them check it.

Have you replaced the battery recently? I had a 1990 Turbo Laser that kept going through alternators. It turned out that my replacement battery was a little too tall and the positive terminal of the battery was grounding out on the hood when I closed it.

Both the alternator and battery are about a year old. Yesterday, I removed the RPM pickup wire that I use when doing A/F on the Innovate Motorsports LM-1 A/F monitor from the appropriate ECU wire and the dancing rpm needle was ok last night. I'll have to keep an eye on it, but thanks for the input guys!

I started bucking at 80k. But it goes away after the secondaries kick in. This is continued through all gears. I will try to fig this out before winter. But no promises as I drive the car a whole lot of never. It's not priority.

This sounds like:
1) Dirty MAF 2) Air leak - check that accordian tube, & have you ever removed the UIM/LIM? If so, 80k sounds like a good time for a few gaskets.
