Could be the pump, yes. Could be the filter also. Check your filter for $5 or $6. Notice when you pull it if there is a lot of fuel in it or if it seems kind of empty.
Ofcourse if you don't here the pump that could be an issue as well. It seems that the haynes has a test for your pump.
You could pull one from a yard as well to save cash. Just thinking...
