If you're pulling ambient air with a short ram, you're getting better "function" than getting ambient air from a CAI. Is this hard to understand?
I am not saying the short ram is crap. Where was I going with that??? Last time I checked cooler air in the enine was a plus, so if the pipe is cool enough to touch then obviously it is grabbing cooler air. I am not saying that the CAI is superior, but in the first few weeks I have had it on it feels different, and yes I will stand by the fact that the CAI pipe is cool enough to grab. Depending on the length of driving the short ram will heat up to the point you cannot touch it. Yes the CAI has its disadvantages as stated above, and I am aware of it. Am I saying this is the best intake, no. I notice some obvious differences in the 2 setups and I think this one feels better, maybe because I am not getting heat soak??? I would love to see the difference on a dyno what my old setup produced versus the new setup.
