How many people would be interested in something like this? There are a Few ways to go about it. Could do a core type thing or I could just sell them direct. Any feedback would help. I am planning to do it on mine. Would be able to fully optimize open intake, TB, exhaust. It would show great gains with little to no driveability problems.

I haven't done it yet, thus, no proven power gains. With other cars it yeilds huge gains. The cost could be relatinely cheap depending on which route you wanted to go.

I'd imagine the price would be fairly steep.
4 valves per cylinder. They'd have to take special care not to disturb the chamber shape.
I think the best you could ask for is a good 3-angle and then smooth the chamber walls without removing any serious material at all. Don't want to disrupt chamber cc and air flow...
The SVT heads have EH'd intake ports already. Pretty efficient to begin with...

I spoke with some of the guys at DPR about doing this. They quoted me a price of 1400 to do their Stage VI work. It's the place where "most" of the ricers get their engines done. You have to make an appointment to do it though. Might be worth looking into. They did say they haven't done too many (reading: none) SVT's or Contours.

Plenty of places in Britain offer this for the Mondeo. Cost around $800 for Stage 2 work (fast road) and $1500 stage 3 (Full race)
I had a stage 2 done to my Zetec 2.0L and gained 20bhp from it

There is a guy on the NECO board that has a set of heads that have had a full p&p job done on them.. He also has SVT cams to put in them. He has already dyno'd without them and will be going back afterwards.. Dont know how similar it will be to power increases between the SVT and Cougar, but should give you a ballpark.
BTW his handle is pgtatx.

Yeah, I am anxiously awaiting his results as well. There is a shop near me that will do a full race setup as well for $600 a head ($200 a cylinder, and a little extra for valve jobs) Depending on the power output PGTATX gets out of it, i may or may not scrap plans for the turbo. The company that PGTATX is going through has plans (IIRC) to sell ported heads to other Duratec owners...there would be a core charge, and then upon receit of their heads, you just ship your stock heads back to them to get your "deposit" back... Leo Capaldi got most of his power for his SVWC Cougar from having his heads ported and polished....300+HP naturally aspirated with potential for more, according to his engine builder...

Nikolas last time i checked, the duratec was a 6cyl engine. 6 cyl at $200/cyl = $1200 + valve job... i guess that puts us back in the $1400 range KJ quoted... or am i missing something?
