yep sleepovers a given
This doesn't have to be in NH either, but so far people seem to be ok with the Kanc. idea, so I guess it's safe to just go with it. It is further north than last year. Probably a good hour or so further.

I voted for 9/10 weekend, but October is open so far.

Hmm ...
Term ends on October 15.
This means I have a weeklong break beginning the 15th and ending on the 25th, or even later (my schedule next term is really messed up; two term projects and only one class, which begins on the 28th).
Therefore, weekend 16-17 or 23-24 are looking the best.
I'd need to know three weeks in advance if I want to get it off work.
Any date earlier than those aforementioned and it is guaranteed I won't be able to come.

no, I only put down full weekend dates, just to get a rough estimate of time people have available. When we have the weekend narrowed down, we can just go with the Saturday and make Sunday the rain date. There are some Cougar folks showing interest as well. Every year we usually have 2 or 3.
All three dates seem to be at a close tie, but that's mostly because some people said multiple dates would work for them, and then there's the "any date works" people.
I made a sort of handwritten spreadsheet here of people's choices and the 16th looks like it's the favorite.
Shall we make the 16th official with 17th as rain date?
Mike and I can plan out a more exact route within the next 2 weeks and search around for activities that might be worth pursuing, as well as a good place to sit and eat.
Did anyone look at that Polar Caves link? Last time I went there, I was a kid, so it was of course cool then. I dunno how kiddy it is for adults, but I think we might still enjoy it as a group. They offer group rates and every 10th person is free (which technically just drops the price down even lower if spread around per head).

The last time I went to the Polar Caves I was a kid as well. I heard recently that The Lost River was a better place to go. I've never been so I cannot vouch for it. I'm game either way!

How can we go to the Lost River unless they found it?

I've got a state golf event the 16th-17th, but don't let that stop you all. If I wasn't golfing, I'd probably be working around the house. Too friggin much to do...

Cool. If we stil want to do the kanc (that was only a suggestion, others are definatley welcome) then we'll have to plan on a full day! Its going to be quite a lengthy drive, but fun as hell. Two way radios are definatley recommended. I'm thinking of starting on the seacost of NH somewhere (come on Maine peeps!!!! chime in now!) and work our way up towards Conway. Then across the kancamangus highway to Lincoln. Form there we can either blast down 93, or take some more back roads south towards Concord and evetually to Manch, where we could stop for dinner and chatting.
