i have been looking for one, hard to find witha 5 speed though. the ones that i have seen hav ebeen beat to hell on the outside and nside...whose to say abotu the motors (though i have noticed the Zetecs are all but bulletproof). but no motor is bulletproof if not taken care of.

i might try to find a mid 90's prelude Si...they are everywhere around here and are dependable, but then again, i really dont want something thats gonna get totalled the next time i bump a curb. i dont do that often, but people cant drive.

i thought abotu a Gen 1 explorer for a 5.0 swap...

What do you think about the Suzuki Aerio S Sedan. 155 HP and a 5 speed for 235a month (for me) thoughts??? that 235 a month is as high as i could possibly go.

crap, stupid maximum edit time!!!

ok, pardon all the smilies but this is way cool!!. my neighbor across the street has a 1992 Infinity Q45 (maxima equivalent). it needs the drivers seat re-upholstered and the A/C repaired ( i dont have to have it anyway). blue book on it is $3,360. it has ~135K i believe and an EXCELLENT trans. this car has been BABIED as far as the motor and trans go.

features include:

-RWD
-4.5L V8
-Sliding Sunroof
-Woodgrain Trim
-Active Suspension System
-Pwr windows/locks
-Telescoping Wheel
-4 speed auto w/ sport mode.:D
-AM/FM/Casette/10 cd changer, factory amplified w/ factory subwoofer.
-Leather (as i said, the leather needs redone, but its an older car, i can throw a set of seat covers over the front and call it good, maybe some of those sheepskin ones )
-Dual Power seats
-Premium 20? spoke wheels (not sure how many spokes but they are good looking )
-ABS
-Integrated Phone (not sure how he got that from factory in 1992??? )
-Digital Odometer display
-analog clock (similar to those in the center bezel on a post 2001 Chrysler 300M)
-Anti Theft/Keyless entry.
-4 wheel disk brakes.
-

and the good part...278bhp

but the best part: i can have it for $2,000. i just have to give him time to find a new car.

A quote from Q45racing.com:

Quote:

"Some Q enthusiasts claim that earlier engines[90-95 model year VH45DE engines] were probably closer to 300 bhp..."

this is NOT the car, but this is what it looks like, same color (as the green one) too:

thoughts???

the car runs gret, but it does need plugs and an air filter before anything else.

as much of a ford man as i am i have to say that given your financial situation go for the q45. especially seeing as you can be relatively confident that the car was properly maintained. and for the best part.........it will be paid for in full so long as you can wait for your neighbor to find a new car

Those are great cars. My Dad has put over 200K on this 94 Q45. Only thing is to do some research on that Active Suspension. I think I've read that the Q45As had some problems with that, and its not cheap to fix. Those are great engines, and with a V8, you'll know it'll last a while.

We've only had one or two problems with the car, and nothing major. He had a WP Pulley seize up and break the bolt, and there is something wrong with the Bose stereo, but other than that its great.

You DEFINATELY need winter tires for this car too. Its not the best in the snow. In fact, it can be a little scary at times.
