acid832.....when this company installed electronics on your car...did they tap into the coil pack?? I hope not. Anyone who owns a Contour knows not to mess with that. The coil pack operates on very minute amounts of electricity and any resistance introduced will surely throw off the firing of the spark plugs.

Robert, thank you for answering my questions. Think for a second why the S-AFC would have gotten messed up. Obviously the original chip was still good and nobody changed the settings on the S-AFC. The only change in the car was the TT and the alarm. Something that had to do with these two additions to the car affected the S-AFC. Could the coil pack wiring have disturbed something? I don't know.

To me...the problem points at the changes introduced to the system. I make a living figuring out what causes problems...I would be very wary in reconnecting those two wires that I mentioned. Also, I would try and fix that wire on the IAC wiring clip. Once that shorts the car will NOT start. Put a water proof seal on it at least.

Once again, good luck and be very careful with what you mess with when it comes to wiring.....oh...and you may want to invest in some new tires!
