There is a setting on the AFC i dont recall which one it is at the moment but i was messing with mine and left it on that setting by mistake. I was driving around and i noticed that my Afl was always on 0% on or off the gas. I dont recall if my car ran bad or not with that setting on but it did scare me to see a 0% airflow. I went back into the settings and moved the cursor back to the old setting and it went back to normal reading afl. I did have an occasion where Id step on the gas and the car would choke and die but i dont recall if these occasions coincide. Sorry it took me so long to chime in on this but I have a girlfriend now so I sleep over her house almost everynight and dont surf the boards as much as i used to. shame on me.

If the S-AFC was set to any other input type besides hot wire (i.e. MAF) that would happen.

The "initialize" resets the S-AFC to the first setting which happens to be hot wire.

Also if the PCM didn't see a proper MAF signal (i.e. garbage passing through the S-AFC) it would go to limp mode which when using large injectors would cause a hellacious rich mode. Maybe even enough to stall the car outright. Definitely enough to make it really un-drivable.

Be funny if this whole incident happened just because someone was playing with something they didn't understand eh???

Thats exactly was i was thinking when i read his post. if your just searching through the different settings to see what there is and push back without going back to the proper setting or the setting it was on when you first opened that option it stays on that setting, therefore changing what the AFC reads from all the info it takes in when you start the car. What kind of injectors are on Roberts car. I know im still on regular 19#s for now.
