Yeah, I figured it would be a good start though to remove the surface particles. The embedded particles would need to be aggressively removed. I've only had to battle this once on some girl's white Grand Am with white wheels! I couldn't get the corners clean, but she was happy with what I did. After that I made a point to clean my wheels as much as possible to prevent it.
