There are factory freaks. Just not many of them.
I only say that because the SHOs have more than a few factory freaks. There have been a few BONE STOCK SHOs turn 14.7 +/- times, while others struggle to pull 15.2s....

Good racing whether is also key, i personally pefer to drag in the winter 
or nice low 60 degree whether. I'm sure with the right driver, a 2k SVT in great mechnical shape, poly filled motor and tranny mounts on a cold night with a great launch... could run low 15's, possibly high 14's 
race prepped of course, i.e. no spare, good tires/inflated properly... etc..
