I Finnally got the money for the Supercharger but wanted other peoples opinions of it before I jumped into it. I've heard all kinda of different dyno's and have no idea what to expect. Also, I hear the AC has to be removed... Anyone help me out? Also curious what the expected 1/4 mile time might be.... thanks Justin

Welcome to CEG first off. I've never heard of anyone saying they had to get rid of their AC in order to install the Vortech. As for the rest of your questions, I suggest you use the search feature. You should find TONS of information to help answer all of your question. Also FYI, there is a turbo that might be developed as well. So you just might want to hold off a bit if you are interested in a turbo instead of a supercharger.

Several SVT's have dynoed around 275HP at the wheels. Some more. Use the search feature to find greater details... and welcome aboard...

What year SVT do you have? This does matter because the fuel system changed in late 99. -Mark

On a side note about the Vortech, has anyone pullied them for more boost? I know a 2.5 is only half of 5.0, but the S trim variation on my mustang put out over 135 rwhp more than before. This is with 11lbs. showing. It seems like Vortech could have used a larger unit?? For the money it doesn't seem worth the cost.
No flames intended, its just disappointing that the blower puts out so little hp.

275HP is plenty for a FWD car. And yes people have played with the boost. I think they had it up to 9psi and it was pumping out 290HP or something close to that?? Can anybody help me out on this?? Also, I believe there are some +300HP Contours lurking around in the shadows. They have just yet to officially show themselves. Maybe Ford has some conspiracy to keep the people from building these Contours away from their precious pony car

The problem with running more boost in the SVT is the high compression. To get some serious horsepower you need more boost to use more boost you need to lower the compression to about 8.5 to 1. sorry.

It was Bob King's car with the preproduction Vortech. He took his car over to SHOshop, and Vadim pullied it to produce 294 hp at the wheels, but I can't recall the tq numbers. It was impressive. Bob has since sold the car. Originally posted by jb svt: 275HP is plenty for a FWD car. And yes people have played with the boost. Worldtour's car is hitting 295 at the wheels with basically the Vortech kit and a cat-back. with stock being roughly 165-170hp at the wheels, that is a 125-130hp gain on a 2.5L engine, not bad if you ask me, oh and only 9lbs of boost.
It's all about balance.
