Since when?

It's true, the chrome itself is thin, light and adds only neglegible weight.

The heavy-a$$ nickel plating underneath is a whole other story.

Does this post really exist?! OMG, this is embarassing. The GSX will rip you one, deal with it. Ok let's say the GSX *should* rip you one. If you beat your friend, let me punch both of you in the noggin.

As was said race anyways. Half the fun of racing is NOT knowing whats gonna happen. When i was out with my old mustang there were alot of cars that suprised me and kept up when i thought they would be left behind. If you know your gonna win i dont see much fun in the race.

The chrome itself may not be what's so heavy- practically all chrome plated wheels are steel, so by nature, a 17" chromed-steel wheel would weigh more than a 16" aluminum wheel. I could see some 17" chrome wheels with tires inflated weighing 35-40 lbs. 50+ lbs. is a little out there- lift weights much?

Near 50 lbs is completely believable, my 16 lb 17" wheels weigh 38.5 lbs with tires mounted....the avg. chrome 17" would weigh anywhere from 20-25 lbs each...so low-mid 40lb is completely believable. Over 50lbs, you've got yourself a tractor.

There is a reason he has a MBC, so he can run more boost. He's bullshittin you if its stock boost. Oh and he will bust your ass by the way. If he can drive he will run 14.5s and mid 9s in the 1/8th. Unless you can break 10s, you have zero chance. But you did say he will launch @ 2500rpm, which is not too wise but he will still get you off the line. If he bogs a launch his 60' should be around 2.1s and yours in the 2.4s.

you're wrong. if he gave you a full second head start and then started from idle you will lose in the 1/4 mile. you said your friend is a bad driver, but i can't even imagine how bad someone would have to be to drive THAT bad

LOL! Emin I hope you kidding. Weight or not, he will destroy you off the line. That's the advantage of AWD.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
