Well I know better now than to get that bad of tint, can't see anything. I'm gonna go for 35% in back and 50% up front.

A little update..

I gave in and took off the front tint and put on 50%. Right now I can't tell that much of a difference.. But it still sucks that I had to do that. I just wanted to beat this retarded ticket and never get pulled for bs like that again..

oh how i dont like cops.

that's the way the chesterfield cops are. they do not have anything better to do. all they want is to measure your bumper's and write b.s tickets.

I think you'd be upset too if you got a ticket for something as pointless as window tint. Then again, maybe not...

We got some Narcs in here. Heh..

34% front, 17% rear. Got the ticket, paid it and called it a day. Did not try to argue it at all. It is not worth it. I have heard several stories of people trying to argue with cops over tint and the cop gives them the option of tearing off the tint there on the street or getting the car impounded.

Impounded car is definately not worth a $35.00 ticket and NO points.

P.S. The reason it is 50% front and 35% rear has to do with the fact that a number of years back, a VA state trooper was conducting a routine stop on a car with very dark windows. The trooper could not see in the car too well and when he got to the drivers window, he was shot dead by the driver (or passenger, can't remember). So we have limits on tint % for the cops safety not ours.

they aren't allowed to tear it off on the side of the road, which is sad because they've "made" many of my friends do it, and my friends just do it without ever questioning. they have to give you a repair order that gives you 10 days to get it fixed. my friend's dad has glaucoma and has a permit/form/permission/something to have just about any tint he wants, so it's on his daughter's car as well. you think the cop would believe it if he wasn't there to back her up? probably not, but if she went home within the 10 days and got the form/permit/etc it wouldn't be an issue.

bottom line, don't do anything on the side of the road. usually they hand you a razor blade to do it anyways, and it'll screw up your windows.
