And to answer HITMANinMI, I wasn't speeding. The cop was sitting by a stoplight that I was stopped at.. When I made my turn, he lit me up. First thing he said to me when we walked up was "I think your tint is too dark" and then he pulled out of those tint tester things and fined me.

I wouldn't look for sympathy from the boards on the law enforcement subject, everyone here are law-abiding citizens.
If you want sympathy I suggest www.honda-perf.org or www.vtec.net

Yeah, I'm a huge criminal for having 35% tint.. What can I say.
And I think your sig says you have 12% tint? I'm pretty sure that isn't legal in Maryland...

I didn't say I was a law abiding citizen. And yes I do have 12% tint because that is was the meter read from the VA State Trooper.  I got a 50 dollar fine, but I am a md state resident so he can't make me take it off.

My old roommate had 20 on his rear and it sucked at night! 35 is the lowest I would go.
VA's law is 45 all around on our cars.
Taking our remarks as hostile implies that you were looking for sympathy. Not going to happen here, this isn't a poser board.
When you speed, follow too close, fail to signal on lane changes and even install illegal tint you are taking a chance. Don't be surprised if you get pulled over and get a ticket. The only person you have to blame or be upset with is yourself.

I wouldn't go 12% but 35% is way too light to me, i've had 20% on my SE for 2 almost two years now, it doesn't look that dark in the day time  I was pulled over once for tint 3 years ago, and it was only because he couldn't get me for anything else!!  He actually walked around my car looking for things to cite me for... lol i think i got a blue corner marker and side marker fine too..

Honestly I put 20 percent on, but it metered 12 %...which led me to believe stock tint plus aftermarket tint came out to 12percent.

Oh crap! maybe i might go 35 then Jason, whats the best way to wire up two Rockford HE2 DVC's? Using a mono amp...

I wasn't being hostile but I'm also not going to show you sympathy. A general rule you should follow, don't mouth off to the cop when he's writing you up.
By the way, one of my coworkers got stopped for tint once. She had 35% all around on a white car. Looked a lot darker then the 35% on my back windows. But she got off with just a warning.

Yes I would, that's why I got the legal limit tint. That way I wouldn't have to worry about getting such a stupid ticket.
