my additions to the original list:

windshield banners
clear tail lamps
"euro"/altezza tail lights
rear window decals that cover a majority of the window (Mustang logos seem to be popular)
tacky, gaudy, over-styled body kits
poser badges (GTR Maximas, Civic Type R's, V6 Mustangs with Cobra badges, etc.)
washer nozzle LEDs confused
decals/stickers all over the car (like everyone is sponsored or something?)

don't like any of them...

I see more and more of them too, and have started seeing them in spots all over the outside of the car. I saw one the other day and didn't know if it was a car or UFO laugh Looked liked Close Encounters of the Third Kind or something...

buddy of mine here at school has neons and strobes out in places i didnt know you could have them on his ranger...looks like a space ship at night...none the less pretty damn cool.. wink

as far as antonios post goes...its the truth...people spend way to much time "hating" on peoples styles...find something better to do...

i am the first to admit when there is something i dont like...but i dont bash that person for buying it...its just not my style and keep my opinion to myself...

a person isnt made by what they drive, or what they do to their car...and chances are if they do something you dont like...guess what...they dont care if you like it or not...so why bother bashing them...let them be happy with what they have...

I think that has been, currently is, and will always be a trend. wink

I'd have to say the newest thing I've heard was the light/LED in the muffler/tip thing. That along with the wiper LED thing are the newest trend.

It's almost impossible to tell what will be the 'next big thing'...just when you think it's all been done somebody does something completely different. Thats beauty of the imagination....well...most times it's beautiful...other times its hideously yellow and chrome!

BTW: I happen to be one of those that gets the POS as my first car.
My first 3 cars were beaters, but my money (and my parents') went to keeping them running, and my work went into washing and polishing. The only aesthetic mod I ever spent money on was to replace the rusted out running boards on my 71 Super Beetle. Lot's of stuff I wanted to do, some I'm glad I could never afford. (Anybody remember the "Mulholland" Look?)

The point is, my dreams were big and probably gaudy, but my priorities were straight.

IMHO, slapping a wing on the trunklid does not make a beater car look "good." Fixing the rust, and getting a decent paint job, making sure the brakes work, and the engine, etc. are essential first steps. Wings, single wipers, etc. can be successful finishing touches to round out a unified theme. I've nothing against them, per se, but too often they are the first choice of a kid who can't even afford to have them properly painted.

And if the truth offends you, that doesn't mean it's not the truth.
