Message for our Torsen rep. Here is an offer...if you guys are serious about that diff.If its a serious competitor, pricewise, to the Quaife and we have enough members who want to ship boxes to me to have it fitted I will order 10 right now!Any one want to set this up as a 'group buy form Torsen and a group install at HMS Inc' ?? No 'time wasters'please, a flat labor charge of $350 for shipped transmissions + any other parts that are worn out on trans + return shipping costs.

Terry,

Is this gonna be a one time deal? I wont be able to get this done until next spring/summer. I was gonna ship you the Tranny then anyways. What will it cost to get the Bulldog tranny work done?

Locking effect/torque bias ratio should be higher for the Torsen vs. the Quaife, which means better traction performance. FRPP got too much wheelspin using a Quaife with the FR200, the Torsen didn't.

Doesn't this mean that the Torsen will have a greater tendency to yank the steering wheel out of your hands? It can be bad enough with the Quaife when goosing it with the wheel largely turned...

Terry - You'd have to get the diffs from FRPP though. I really would love to help you if I could, but we're obligated to sell the diffs exclusively to them for the first year. Still, no reason why you couldn't do that through an FRPP dealer. I can ask my contact at FRPP about it if you think it will help.

Lance - yes, torque steer is related to locking effect/torque bias ratio. I'd be surprised, though, if there was a noticable difference between our diff and the Quaife in that aspect.

Any of the FWD vehicles I've driven with torque bias in this ballpark was pretty benign in that respect. It isn't until TBR gets upwards of 3:1 that it really becomes an issue. From what FRPP told me when I asked about torque-steer, they didn't think there was anything noticably objectionable about it smile...

Humm , FRP have never been cost cutters so I have to doubt it will be cheaper than a Quaife.Shipping from NY,I'm guessing but should be under $100 by truck to Mi,may want to call some trucking Cos in your area.
