damn! I called quaife uk as it is only 60miles from me and they said it will cost me £558.12 plus shipping thats over $800 !! i explained what i had read and they said that it was due to the fact that quaife USA are ordering so many. can i here every body say Bull sh*t! how much would it cost me to order from quaife USA and have it shipped to the uk. nowhare near $800 i bet another prime example of the UK public getting shoved up the ass from greedy UK retailers. mad mad

Strange how the tables turn. Us U.S. customers former best dal was to have one shipped from the UK for $849+shipping. It was still a lot cheaper then getting one from Quiafe USA.

Doesn't make sense. In my VERY limited understanding of the MTX-75 tranny, the BASIC design hasn't changed that much, though certain parts in it have gone through a number of revisions. Is the differential one of them?

Any takers on this one?

Not that I understand the internals of a transaxle, but the jist is clear to me. Not ALL 2.5 MTX-75s will be like mine, I just got a SPECIAL one. The kind that needs a machine shop to fit a Quaife. However a 2.5 MTX-75 will need to be heavily un-shimmed to get it to fit right. So don't let your local Billy Bob's Trannies do the work for you unless they know what they are doing.

Thank you Focus RS! That is just awesome. The Contour guys get a break in the aftermarket! With the new price, that is the least expensive LSD they make - usually our aftermarket stuff is about the most expensive. I have wanted a LSD but felt it may be just too much extra cost. But now, I have to really consider this. Terry H., you are the only guy I would trust for the installation. Your website is unaccessable for me now. Can you give a ballpark figure (I understand you probably can't give a firm price) for installation if I drove to Michagan. My clutch and tranny are fine. Thanks.

How do we find out what our tranny has and if it will work with the LSD correctly withouth modding it...?

In respect of the bearing issue,you cant until its stripped but we,HMS Inc, can make it work!
