Sorry to hear this.

Speaking of shockers, my father was diagnosed with stomach cancer 3 weeks ago. After getting 2/3rds of his stomach taken out, he's now undergoing chemo.

Things like this can really get to you, but keep your head up, and definitely get another dog.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had to do the same thing 3 years ago. Rest assured it was definitely the right decision. He'll be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge.

Gotta be a tough thing to do. I just don't want to think about it. My doggy is 7 now. She closes doors on command, picks things up for my blind wife, and protects my house & family as well as the neighbors adjacent. Everybody loves her...

You have my deepest sympathy as well as my respect for having done the right thing.

Coming from a veterinary background, I can honestly say that you've done this last thing for your friend to show that you care. You've ended any suffering and removed any pain and I'mn sure that he appreciated it, especially as you were there for/with him as he closed his eyes.

All the best to you and your family at this sad time,

JJ.

Never a happy time, but here's something for you to look at and remember him by. Let me know if you'd like something different or with another picture. Good luck in the next few weeks, and I know you'll find another dog that Duke would have loved, and that can be just as loving and devoted as him.

Sorry to hear about your loss... I'm dreading the day I come home and don't have my dog waiting at the door for me.

Getting another pet def. helps! I lost my cat last year that I grew up with from day 1 (I'm now 20) and a couple months after I got a different cat and it was all good. I still miss "squeaky", but "goofball" has helped me to move on. My family has lost 6 pets altogether (2 dogs and 4 cats) most of which my parents had before they had me. Sorry about your loss and good luck! There is light at the end of the tunnel...

Sorry to hear this, man.

A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine had to put his dog of 16 years down, and it was heart-breaking.

I dread the day we have to do the same with either of our cats.
