Think for a minute and realize that this guy may have another less expensive problem...Use your Brain man.
Visions, tell us what motor, transmission and if there are any CEL's or O/D lights flashing....And we can go form there....also are there any other symptoms?????? If i ahd to guess form your statment above....the MAIN thing that comes to mind is Fuel pump....but its only a guess with the info you have given us.

Chill out, he didnt for some reason say what type of tranny he had. He said while crusing down the road, I figured if it had an manual, he would have said in 3rd it just dies, or in 2nd it just dies.
Secondly I was saying what someone else said before. It MAY, I'm not saying it is though, be in the very early stages of auto. trans failure, and look he posted he does have an automatic.
Speaking as some one with a MTX, when 3rd goes bad, the car does not die...it pops out of gear....in an MTX car there is no electronc control...its all driver when you shift...anything that happens is mechanical to the tranmission....so if a gear was going either 1# you cannot put it into that gear, 2: it pops out of that gear, 3: it gets stuck in that gear.....But the car will not die..especaily at crusing speeds unless its a Vaccum leak!!!!
Look, i apologize for snaping, but the reason i got so irrated, was because it was plain jane obvious that you did not have any of the correct info, yet you were trying to spout out advise...About waht someone else said for that matter.....Thats why i asked for more info, from the guy....because it was needed before we could properly give advise....and thats why i said think before you post!!!
Anyways, back to topic, a Fuel pump issue may not through a CEL (it might have soft codes) but the ECU my still register a code.
Also take a look at the tranny forum, there is a FAQ at the top of the forum....thats a good place to start dignosing if it is a trans problem.
