These are my options as I am new to street bikes and wanna stay under 700cc. I like the R6 and the SV650S and my dad likes the ZZr600 which isn't that bad either... I just started looking at the R6, and its now my first choice, the dealer doesn't have any in so I gotta wait a few days till they get them in. What do you guys think?



The YZF-R6 is not remotely in the same category as the SV650 or the ZZR.

The R6/R1 are balls to the wall, barely street legal race bikes. Make a mistake, or be undecisive and the short wheelbase, ultra light chassis, and super peaky power curve will make you pay. The R6 is also full on sportbike, high footpegs, and a cramped position. Great for the track, crappy for daily biking.

The SV650 and the ZZR are sport tourer's. More midrange torque, not as light, and not as peaky. MOre suited for long drives and daily biking. Your wrists won't cry in pain at night either.

If you want a sportbike and you want a bit more comfort, the ZX-636, CBR F4i and the Daytona 600 are more suited to that. As well, don't rule out 250cc class bikes. They are still quick (14 sec 1/4m) but they're safer if youre uneasy about the power modern bikes put out.
