The time has come. On Friday, I traded in my contour for a new car. Between the dash warpage, the total lack of power, and the bone stock-i-ness of my car (not all contours, just mine) I'd had enough. The car had 594xx on it when I traded it in, and I just wasn't ready to spend any kind of money on a timing belt...or brakes...or a fuel pump. I'm making a little more money these days than I was, so I went out and treated myself to some turbo goodness. I was looking for a silver one with all the fixins, but they had no silver '04s left. I opted for the dealer demo, an 04 platinum grey. It had 4200 mi when I picked it up on Friday, which means the dealer was able to do some price cutting. The car stickered at 24,900, I got it for 21,600. They also made an offer I couldn't refuse on a 10/100 bumper to bumper warranty. The downside is that I rolled some negative equity in from the Contour, so my payments are a little up there. To me, it's worth it though. Meet Heinz (my girlfriend named him): Love the whistle....

Dealer Demo 1.8T? You're gonna need that 10/100k warranty.

That's what I said. It was driven only by the sales mgr, who was quite the old man. But still.....

Excellent choice. If that thing was roped to a manual, I'd pedal it for the rest of my/its life.
